Rough Draft Video

Idea and Inspiration- For this project, I decided to base my video on a how to step by step instructions video. This video relates to my course topic of fitness because I specifically interview volunteers about how to properly perform the bench press, and squat exercise. I was inspired by fitness models on YouTube such as “The Hodge Twins”, and Jimmy Smithers. I strive to know how to correctly do each technique with ease, and to teach people how proper technique. Design and Process- I researched many fitness-based YouTube channels/ videos to get an idea of how I wanted to make this video. I believe that what makes my videos significant is the style of my editing and how I base my transitions. I used a lot of the same techniques that youtubers use to edit their videos. When I first started the design process, I began with recording all the video on my cell phone, interviewing mt volunteers. Next, I created a vimeo account to edit the two separate videos into one. I then proceeded to add background music in, make an introduction to the video, as well as created smooth transitions in between scenes. Technical Detail-  I started off by using my cell phone to record the video footage. Furthermore, I created a new project folder then went to the window tab, and selected editing. I then imported my media into the project panel. I then went on to the meta data tab to adjust the frame rate so that way my sequence would stay consistent. I dragged the film strip icon and put it into my timeline because there was some clips where I only wanted to utilize just the video portion. I then used my razor tool to help me trim some of my clips. I then finished up changing my format to H.264. Sources and Materials- I used my cell phone, and observed different YouTube channels about fitness.
